The School of Engineering and the individual academic departments offer internal scholarships for graduate students who demonstrate academic merit and research potential (in addition to other more specific criteria). Scholarship awardees are selected by the Faculty Scholarship Committee that oversees the selection process in their respective department. These scholarships are competitive and applicants should obtain a faculty recommendation prior to submitting an application.
The following list includes both school-level and department-level graduate scholarships. Please make sure to review the selection criteria carefully—prior to asking a faculty member for a recommendation—in order to ensure your eligibility. Once you confirm your eligibility, please fill out the corresponding application form and submit all required documentation (all uploaded materials must be PDF documents).

Hennessey Distinguished Scholarship
Hennessey Distinguished Scholars will be nominated by School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based upon a students academic achievement, area of study, and research potential. Applicants should be involved in research activities with a faculty member to qualify. This scholarship is awarded to graduate students annually, with an amount of $2000 - $4000.

Joseph Corasaniti Endowed Scholarship
The Joseph Corasaniti Endowed Scholarship is awarded to graduate students pursuing a degree in the School of Engineering, who demonstrate both financial need and academic merit. Corasaniti Scholars will be recommended by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based on academic achievement, financial need, and residence in (or close connection to) the Baltimore-Annapolis area.

Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship
The Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship is for graduate students pursuing a degree in the School of Engineering, and studying in the areas of materials science, nanotechnology, or biomedicine. The Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship recipient will be selected by School of Engineering (SOE) faculty, based on academic achievement and research potential. This scholarship is awarded annually, with an amount of $5,000 - $8,000.

Frank J. & Edna Bennett Newton Scholarship
The Frank J. & Edna Bennett Newton Scholarship is for graduate students studying biomedical engineering; more specifically, students who conduct research in restoring organs and limbs, and developing prosthetics. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based upon academic achievement and research potential. It is awarded each year in the amount of $8,000.

Joseph Clark Scholarship
The Joseph Clark Scholarship is available to all graduate students who demonstrate financial need. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty.

Vice Admiral Mel Williams Leadership Excellence Award
The Vice Admiral Mel Williams Leadership Excellence Award is awarded to graduate students who demonstrate academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and/or the potential for future leadership in the engineering disciplines. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty. Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 may be awarded each year to two (2) Masters Degree students and two (2) Doctoral degree students.

J&J Tucker, J&P Gazdayka, & Baruch Scholarship
The J&J Tucker, J&P Gazdayka, & Baruch Scholarship is awarded to graduate students studying of biomedical engineering, robotics, and mechatronics, for the purpose of developing prosthetics. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty, based upon academic achievement and research potential. The scholarship is awarded each year in the amount of $6,000.
