School of Engineering Undergraduate Scholarships
This is a list of outside scholarships available to undergraduate engineering students.-
Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
The Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship is for undergraduate students studying engineering or computer science at a four-year college or university. If selected, the student will receive $10,000 in funding. The scholarship is renewable, for a total sum of $40,000.

Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Noyce)
The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Noyce Scholarship) is available to juniors and seniors. For specific information, please visit the following link and contact your advisor.

Steinman Scholarship
The Steinman Scholarship, funded by the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), is an undergraduate scholarship for entering or continuing juniors at a four-year college or university. The award for this program is $5,000. The application deadline is April 1st, 2024.

Tau Beta Pi/SAE Engineering Scholarship
The Tau Beta Pi/SAE Engineering Scholarship is for incoming freshman pursuing an engineering or related science degree. If selected for this scholarship, the student will receive an award of $1,500. Applications for the 2024/2025 academic year will be available on February 1st, 2024.

Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantships
Each department in the School of Engineering offers Teaching Assistant (TA) and Research Assistant (RA) positions to outstanding graduate students, primarily for doctoral study. Decisions are made based on GPA, performance on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), related research experience and potential, etc.
- Teaching Assistants receive a full or partial tuition scholarship and a stipend for living expenses, and assist faculty members with instruction in undergraduate and/or graduate courses.
- Research Assistants receive a full tuition scholarship and a stipend for living expenses, and assist a faculty member on a research project, typically one that is funded by a research grant.
To apply for or inquire about these positions, please apply to our doctoral program and email a detailed curriculum vitae, GRE scores, undergraduate/graduate transcripts, and a description of your research interests to the relevant department chair and/or to one of our faculty members whose research interests align with your own.
School of Engineering Graduate Scholarships
The School of Engineering, and the individual academic departments offer multiple internal scholarships for graduate students who demonstrate academic merit and research potential (in addition to other more specific criteria). Scholarship awardees are selected by the Faculty Scholarship Committee that oversees the selection process in their respective department. These scholarships are competitive and applicants should obtain a faculty nomination prior to submitting a nomination form.
The following list includes both school-level and department-level scholarships. Please make sure to review the selection criteria carefully—prior to asking a faculty member for a nomination—in order to ensure your eligibility. More information on these scholarships can be found within each of the attached nomination forms.

Hennessey Distinguished Scholarship
Hennessey Distinguished Scholars will be nominated by School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based upon a students academic achievement, area of study, and research potential. Nominees should be involved in research activities with a faculty member to qualify. This scholarship is awarded to graduate students annually, with an amount of $2000 - $4000.

Joseph Corasaniti Endowed Scholarship
The Joseph Corasaniti Endowed Scholarship is awarded to graduate students pursuing a degree in the School of Engineering, who demonstrate both financial need and academic merit. Corasaniti Scholars will be nominated by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based on academic achievement, financial need, and residence in (or close connection to) the Baltimore-Annapolis area.

Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship
The Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship is for graduate students pursuing a degree in the School of Engineering, and studying in the areas of materials science, nanotechnology, or biomedicine. The Seven Bennet Sisters Scholarship will be nominated by School of Engineering (SOE) faculty, based on academic achievement and research potential. This scholarship is awarded annually, with an amount of $5,000 - $8,000.

Frank J. & Edna Bennett Newton Scholarship
The Frank J. & Edna Bennett Newton Scholarship is for graduate students studying biomedical engineering; more specifically, students who conduct research in restoring organs and limbs, and developing prosthetics. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty based upon academic achievement and research potential. It is awarded each year in the amount of $8,000.

Joseph Clark Scholarship
The Joseph Clark Scholarship is available to all graduate students who demonstrate financial need. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty. -
Vice Admiral Mel Williams Leadership Excellence Award
Vice Admiral Mel Williams Leadership Excellence Award is awarded to graduate students who demonstrate academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and/or the potential for future leadership in the engineering disciplines. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty. Scholarships in the amount of $3,000 may be awarded each year to two (2) Masters Degree students and two (2) Doctoral degree students.

J&J Tucker, J&P Gazdayka, & Baruch Scholarship
The J&J Tucker, J&P Gazdayka, & Baruch Scholarship is awarded to graduate students studying of biomedical engineering, robotics, and mechatronics, for the purpose of developing prosthetics. The recipients of this scholarship will be selected by the School of Engineering (SOE) faculty, based upon academic achievement and research potential. The scholarship is awarded each year in the amount of $6,000.
