Registration
A student may register after receipt of official notification of admission from the dean of engineering. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for the relevant semester for a list of registration related deadlines.
A new student admitted to graduate study in BE should consult with the department chairman or with an assigned advisor in planning the program of study for the semester. Students will be mailed a login ID and password to enable online registration. For continuing students, a registration period at the end of each semester is provided for the next semester's course registration. Continuing students should consult their advisor in planning the program of study for the semester.
Graduate students should enroll in courses at the 500-level and above. BE 500-599 courses are open to graduate and qualified undergraduate students. BE 600-990 are open to graduate students only. Thesis guidance is designated 995 and 996 for the masters degree and 997 and 998 for the doctoral degree.
Enrollment
Graduate students are considered full-time students if they meet one of the following criteria:
- Enrollment in a minimum of eight semester credit hours,
- Enrollment in a minimum of six semester credit hours and position as a teaching/research assistant (10 hrs/week), or
- Enrollment in a minimum of three semester credit hours and a position as a teaching/research assistant (20 hrs/week).
All students not satisfying the criteria for full-time study are part-time students and must pay tuition in the amount charged per semester hour.
