Madison Hughes is a Biomedical Engineering major from Carmel, NY. She shares why she chose to attend Catholic University and the School of Engineering, and what advice she has for prospective students.

Why did you choose to attend Catholic University and the School of Engineering?

"I chose to attend Catholic University because of its faith life, community, and academic programs. I chose the School of Engineering because of the support system that the professors provide in terms of classes and access to internships."

Why do you want to be an engineer?

"I want to be an engineer so that I can serve my community and improve the quality of life of those in society."

What's been your favorite part of being a student at Catholic University?

"My favorite part of being a student at Catholic University is constantly seeing my friends on my way to classes, work, internships, etc."

What advice would you give to prospective students?

"Have a list of the more important characteristics that you are looking for in a University (for example: location, major, enrollment size etc) and a list of some smaller characteristics that you're looking for (for example: free printing, free laundry, a Chick-Fil-A on campus, etc). It's important to have a list of the things that you are looking for when you go on college tours, so that you are coming in knowing what you want and you are less likely to settle. Good luck during the process; it's worth it!"
