Experience:
Fred Byus established Future Force LLC in March 2018 with a focus on assisting the Navy and industry chart a course to the peopled and unpeopled undersea force of the future by applying imagination and multi-disciplined experience to the challenge of sustaining undersea dominance in a rapidly changing world. 

Rear Admiral Byus was previously employed by the Battelle Memorial Institute, a leading non-profit research and development company from 2007 to 2018.  While with Battelle, he served as Vice President and General Manager of the Mission and Defense Technologies Business Unit from May 2015 to March 2018.

He was also President of SeeByte Inc, a wholly owned US Subsidiary of Battelle from May 2017 until leaving Battelle in March 2018.

He was Chairman of the Board of SeeByte, LTD of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, a wholly owned Battelle subsidiary from December 2014 to March 2018. Rear Admiral Byus served on the board of directors for Bluefin Robotics, a wholly owned Battelle subsidiary from 2008 to 2013.

US Navy – June 1976 to September 2007: Rear Admiral Byus completed a 31-year career with experience in nuclear engineering, networked command and control of fleet and joint force operations, submarine warfare, anti-submarine warfare, financial management, training and assessment, and oceanography.
