    Mr. Michael P. Kushner is the former Vice President and General Manager of the Orbital-TMS Transportation Management Systems Division, and formally the Director of the Westinghouse Municipal Systems Department. Mr. Kushner serves as a consultant to a number of academic and industry associations involved in Human Factors Research and Education and Training. He is currently the Managing Director and board member of the American Public Transit Institute (www.aptrex.com) and has served as a consultant to the Driver Safety Training Institute (DTSI) at Carnegie Mellon University; the Intelligent Transportation Society of America; the US DOT Professional Capacity Building Program; and to the Volpe Transportation Center.

    Mr. Kushner has over 30 years of industry experience in the areas of project management and systems integration for telecommunications projects, information systems projects, and customer service systems. He has significant project management and domain knowledge of the transit industry, and extensive knowledge of the funding processes of the Federal Agencies involved.

    n addition, Mr. Kushner is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC). He holds the title of Associate Professor, and lectures on the subjects of Project Management, Strategic Management, and Transportation Systems. He has been involved in adult education for over 20 years in Ohio and South Carolina, as well as at UMUC, and the University of Virginia. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, with a BS in Business, and has an MBA from the University of Dayton.
