Diploma Application and Eligibility

In order to be issued a diploma at graduation, candidates must file a diploma application online through Cardinal Station. A student who does not meet graduation requirements at the end of the semester in which a diploma application was filed must contact the Office of Enrollment Services and provide them with the new anticipated graduation date.

When the school determines that a student has met all requirements for their degree, the student’s name should be included on the list of graduates for the upcoming semester even if the student has not submitted a diploma application. In determining whether a student has met degree requirements, the school evaluates each course on the student’s record to determine if it satisfies a course requirement for the student’s degree plan. Any course that is eligible must be counted: a student may not opt for an eligible course to not be applied towards degree requirements. Thus, a student who has met degree requirements may not opt to postpone completion of the degree.

Undergraduate GPA

Students must have a minimum cumulative average of 2.0 to graduate. If a student has received a passing grade in all courses required for the degree, but has a GPA below 2.0, the student must retake one or more courses in which a grade of D was earned in order to improve the student’s GPA.

Graduate GPA

Students must have a minimum cumulative average of 3.0 to graduate. If a student has received a passing grade in all courses required for the degree, but has a GPA below 3.0, the student must retake one or more courses in which a grade of “F” or “C” was earned in order to improve the student’s GPA.
