Seven of the students pose together in front of Pangborn Hall

Eric Charlery, Adam Pettyjohn, Chizua Agupusi, Nick DeLucia, Benjamin Riesett, Margaret Brautigan, and Margaret O'Brien (left to right) will be studying abroad for the 2023 spring semester.

The spring 2023 semester will see eight School of Engineering students broadening their horizons with a semester abroad. Margaret O'Brien, a sophomore studying computer science, is "excited to learn about Irish culture and experience new things while studying at NUI Galway!" She will be joined at the National University of Ireland Galway by biomedical engineering junior, Margaret Brautigan and Adam Pettyjohn, a mechanical engineering senior.

Another group of students are heading to the neighboring isle to attend the University of Edinburgh: mechanical engineering juniors Nick DeLucia and Chizua Agupusi and computer science juniors Benjamin Riesett and Eric Charlery. DeLucia hopes to "watch some soccer matches in the UK and to visit some other countries" as well, while Charlery is "looking forward to visiting famous landmarks in Scotland and across the UK, such as King Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle."

Biomedical engineering graduate student Pauline Oteyza rounds out the spring 2023 study abroad cohort, traveling to Italy to spend a semester at Catholic University's Rome Center.

Anticipating his first trip out of the USA, Benjamin Riesett says, "I look forward to immersing myself in the culture and traveling as much as possible." Join us in wishing each of these students an immersive and enriching summer full of new experiences! Buon viaggio, go dté tú slán, and hae a guid journey!
