January 14, 2026
On January 14, 2026, the College of Engineering, Physics, and Computing welcomed our new intern, Carlo Brown, as part of our newly established Community Based Internships Program, a partnership with Ivymount School and Seeking Employment, Equality and Community for People with Developmental Disabilities (SEEC), that expands meaningful work-based learning opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Over the next ten weeks, Carlo will be working alongside our Director of Laboratories and Technology Resources, Afshin Nabili, gaining hands-on experience, developing transferable job skills, and contributing to the daily life of the University community.

At The Catholic University of America, we believe that dignity, purpose, and opportunity are central to human flourishing. Programs like this reflect our commitment to recognizing and investing in the abilities of every person, while strengthening our community through inclusion, mentorship, and collaboration.

We are grateful to our partners at Ivymount and SEEC for their collaboration and support, and we look forward to a meaningful and successful ten weeks together.

Welcome to campus. We are glad you are here.
