Bio
Mr. Thompson is an adjunct lecturer in management and strategy in the Engineering Management Program at The Catholic University of America. He is a Vice President for the Americas Office of Risk Management where his responsibilities include regional risk management and quality leadership across Canada for AECOM (NYSE: ACM) – a 45,000 person international architecture and engineering firm.
During his 25-year career he has lead large complex engineering and building project teams and programs like the US Navy’s Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) Land-Based Test Site and the American Airlines JFK Airport Terminal Replacement Program. Rick has been a principal-in-charge, project director and project manager for multiple mission critical facilities for the National Guard Bureau, the US Department of Transportation, Phillip Morris, and Charles Schwab. In his current leadership role in the Americas of Risk Management he oversees the firm’s Peer Review and Critical Project Oversight programs under the company’s ISO 9001-2008 certified quality management system.
