The School of Engineering currently offers coursework in Additive Manufacturing as part of the Master's degree program in Materials Science and Engineering, and is developing a standalone professional certificate in Additive Manufacturing.

The certificate will require completion of 5 courses:  3 core courses plus 2 electives.  Certificate Objectives:

  1. Materials Knowledge.  Acquire and apply Materials Science and Engineering knowledge.
  2. Design Solutions. Demonstrate critical thinking and the effective use of Additive Manufacturing methods and techniques to design solutions that may solve complex Materials Science and Engineering problems.
  3. Management Decisions. Acquire the ability to inform decisions made by managers and leaders regarding potential Additive Manufacturing solutions which may address the needs of the Federal Government Agencies (Washington, DC Metropolitan area), and other public and private companies/industries.
