The Department of Computer Science at The Catholic University of America is pleased to offer a minor in Artificial Intelligence. This minor is designed to prepare students from a wide range of majors for careers that increasingly rely on AI and data-driven technologies. The AI minor allows you to enhance your primary field of study in areas such as engineering, business, mathematics, science, and the humanities.

Requirements for the Minor in Artificial Intelligence

Students must complete six three-credit courses in Artificial Intelligence-related areas, including five required courses and one AI elective.

Note: For students whose major or other minors include AI courses, only two courses may double-count toward both the AI minor and another program.

Required AI Core Courses:

  • AI 109 Enter the World of Artificial Intelligence: Computing Principles, Ethics, and Impact
  • AI 124 Introduction to Computer Programming with Python
  • AI 220 Introduction to AI
  • AI 230 Mathematical Foundations for Computing
  • AI 304 Ethics in AI

One AI Elective Course:

The elective may be any AI course at the 300 level or above. For the list of eligible AI elective courses, please refer to the course offerings: AI Elective Courses
