The School of Engineering is now offering a standalone professional certificate in Additive Manufacturing.

Having earned the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Graduate Professional Certificate                
you will have knowledge of Materials Science and Engineering, Design, and Decision Factors – to provide expertise to Commercial Industry and Government leaders regarding the applicability, potential risks, and the opportunities of using 3D printed parts in critical systems.

The certificate will require completion of 5 courses:  3 core courses plus 2 electives. 

Certificate Objectives:

  1. Materials Knowledge.  Acquire and apply Materials Science and Engineering knowledge.
  2. Design Solutions. Demonstrate critical thinking and the effective use of Additive Manufacturing methods and techniques to design solutions that may solve complex Materials Science and Engineering problems.
  3. Management Decisions. Acquire the ability to inform decisions made by managers and leaders regarding potential Additive Manufacturing solutions which may address the needs of the Federal Government Agencies (Washington, DC Metropolitan area), and other public and private companies/industries.
