Dr. Haydee De Clippeleir is the Director of Clean Water Quality and Technology at DC Water, where she leads laboratory operations, pretreatment programs, and research initiatives focused on process optimization, resource recovery, and data-driven water and wastewater solutions. With a background in environmental engineering, her research spans advanced treatment technologies, including intensification strategies and anammox-based processes—an area she has explored since her doctoral studies at Ghent University. 

Dr. De Clippeleir is passionate about accelerating the transition from concept to technology to full-scale implementation in the water sector. She actively collaborates with academic and industry partners to bridge the gap between research and real-world applications, ensuring that innovative solutions rapidly translate into practical, high-impact advancements. She is also committed to mentoring students and fostering innovation in environmental engineering.
